Community Outreach

Serving others is one of the ways we live out our faith — by loving our neighbors as ourselves. Over the years, St. Thomas has supported a range of local causes, sometimes by gathering supplies, sometimes by giving our time, and often by working alongside organizations already meeting needs in our community.

Holy City Missions

DONATION DRIVE & HYGIENE KIT ASSEMBLY

Holy City Missions operates as a compassionate community anchor based at Aldersgate United Methodist Church on Remount Road in North Charleston. Driven by a Christ-centered mission to treat every individual with dignity and care, the organization addresses immediate physical and relational needs while walking alongside neighbors facing severe food insecurity, poverty, and homelessness.

Lowcountry Orphan Relief

DONATION DRIVE

Lowcountry Orphan Relief Lowcountry supports children in South Carolina who are experiencing displacement or instability due to abuse, abandonment or neglect.

School Supply Drive

DONATION DRIVE

Members of our parish collect and donate much needed school supplies and backpacks for two local Title I schools: Chicora Elementary and North Charleston Elementary.

Newborns in Need

SLEEPERS-IN-SEPTEMBER DRIVE

Newborns In Need is a volunteer-driven nonprofit that provides essential baby gear—like diapers, clothes, and handmade blankets—to vulnerable families facing poverty or illness, ensuring no infant goes without basic necessities right after birth.

Reading Partners

ONE-ON-ONE TUTORING

Reading Partners operates on the belief that combining evidence-based curriculum and consistent one-on-one volunteer support is the key to closing the literacy gap. This approach ensures kids get the targeted help they need to build confidence, improve their reading skills, and succeed both inside and outside of the classroom.
