Who We Are
We believe God loves you — no exceptions — and we'd love to get to know you.
-
St. Thomas is part of the Episcopal Church. We're followers of Jesus Christ who trace our roots all the way back to the earliest days of Christianity. That long history shows up in our worship: our liturgy holds on to ancient structure and generations of tradition, giving our prayer together a sense of depth and continuity that stretches far beyond any one Sunday.
We worship using the Book of Common Prayer, a treasure chest of prayers, readings, and rites that has shaped our worship for centuries. And Scripture is at the center of it all — roughly 70% of the Book of Common Prayer comes directly from the Bible, so when you worship with us, you're immersed in it from beginning to end.
We hold our faith together through three guides: Scripture, Tradition, and Reason. We take the Bible seriously as the inspired word of God, we honor the wisdom handed down through centuries of Christian practice, and we believe God gave us minds to think, question, and wrestle honestly with faith.

One of the things we love most about being Episcopalian is how much room there is at the table. We believe unity in Christ doesn't require uniformity of opinion — we can disagree about plenty and still belong to each other. Because of that:
All are welcome to find a spiritual home here, wherever you're starting from.
All baptized Christians are invited to receive Holy Communion with us — not just members of the Episcopal Church.
People of all genders and sexual orientations, regardless of marital status, are eligible for ordination as deacons, priests, and bishops.
Marriage is a lifelong commitment between two adults, regardless of gender — and we also believe there is grace after divorce. We celebrate re-marriages and never withhold the sacraments from those whose marriages have ended.
Lay people aren't just in the pews — they play a vital role in how our church is led and governed.
We strive to love our neighbors as ourselves and to respect the dignity of every single person who walks through our doors.

We believe vision isn't something we invent — it's something we receive. Through Scripture, prayer, and the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit, God shapes what St. Thomas is called to be, and we simply try to say "yes" and build on the foundation that's already been laid: Jesus Christ.
With that in mind, here's what we're praying and working toward as a parish. We long to be a church:
Where people encounter Jesus Christ through worship, prayer, and genuine community.
Where real relationships form across lines of race, culture, and background, because the body of Christ was never meant to look just one way.
Where lives are transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit, so that each of us can live out the purpose God has for us.
Where your gifts matter — a place to discover and use your talents in ways that build up God's kingdom.
Where the marginalized and the struggling find real help, not just kind words.
Where people hear God's call and answer it — through leadership, through time, through the simple offering of who they are.
